Dave Essig, owner/architect of Hickory Hill Golf Course and Butternut Creek Golf Course, had been in the propane business for years. Hating to lay off his loyal Country Propane employees over the summer, Dave figured that building a golf course to keep his people busy made perfect sense. Thus, Dave could also sell LP gas for home gas grills.

     Today, at 3451 State Route 31, in Baldwinsville, NY you'll find Hickory Hill, a short-and-sweet 18 hole, par-62, 4,200 yard set-up that makes an enjoyable round possible — and possible in under three hours.
