This is a fun course where you'll play your round in under three hours.

     Dave Essig, the owner and one of the designers of the course here at Hickory Hill, had a specific goal in mind when he laid out this course:

“I did not build this course for the pros. I built it for “real golfers” — those of us who are never going to break 100 – which is about 90 percept of all golfers. We want you to come out and have fun.”

The course is short (4,200 yards) and sweet (three-hour rounds).
We're here just for the fun of it!

     They're popping up like dandelions — those monster, championship courses, with traps and hazards, with their tight fairways and four-plus hour rounds. That brand of golf does more to discourage golfers than it does to encourage them. We're here for fun. (You might pick this up as a recurring theme!)

     Before we leave the “short and sweet” discussion, the other sweet thing you'll love about Hickory Hill is our Ice Cream Stand  which is a cold-and-refreshing treat for kids of all ages!

     Dave Essig has been in the propane business for over a quarter-century, providing this area with residential heating propane out beyond the natural gas mains. But he found that demand for propane waned in the summer months. Not wanting to lay off his loyal Country Propane employees over the summer, Dave figured that building a golf course to keep his people busy made perfectly sense. Thus, Dave could also sell LP gas for home gas grills.

     From our exceptional, Harris-designed mini-golf course to a clubhouse that's the hub of all of our activity, there's nothing going on here that doesn't relate back to fun. Best of all, with the economic concerns of today, we give you the biggest bang for your recreational bucks.
